둥근 타원형 매스를 역동적으로 얹고 있는 발렌시아 베테라의 발린트하우스(BALINT HOUSE, BETERA, VALENCIA) 2

4개의 날렵한 기둥이 아치형의 육중한 지붕을 지탱하는 독창적인 집… 조각같이 단순하면서도 리듬감 있는 볼륨감으로 구현해 낸 독창적인 주거 공간

발린트하우스는 스페인 발렌시아주에 있는 베테라 도시에 772,00㎡에 지하 1층, 지상 2층 규모의 아담한 주택이다. 둥근 타원형 매스를 상부에 얹고 있는 특별한 형태의 집은 흡사 커다란 모자를 머리에 쓰고 있는 듯 역동적인 모양새를 취한다. 건물은 발렌시아 인근 골프장을 배경으로 아주 특색 있게 계획되었으며, 양쪽의 입면이 캔틸레버 식으로 떠 있는 모습이다. 정면과 대칭을 이루며 주택 안쪽 깊숙이는 곡면형 수영장을 품고 있어 주택의 부드러운 조형미와 한껏 조화를 이룬다. 그라운드 레벨의 전면과 후면으로 길게 내밀고 있는 아치형의 육중한 지붕은 4개의 날렵한 콘크리트 기둥이 지탱하고 있다.

둥근 원통형 매스를 필요에 따라 절개하고 열어놓듯 내부 공간을 통해 보이는 외부 전망은 사뭇 경쾌하다. 넓게 개방된 거실과 주방은 통창을 통해 정원으로 한껏 열려진 모습을 취한다. 화이트와 블랙을 활용해 절제된 디자인을 선보이는 내부 공간은 세련되고 윤기 나는 공간미를 더해준다. 공용공간의 풍성함을 더해주고자 상부를 거침없이 열어진 보이드와 천창을 통해 유입되는 자연광은 내부 공간에 활력 넘치는 에너지를 제공한다.

발린트하우스의 설계를 맡은 프란 실베스트레 아키텍토스는 주변의 환경을 고려하여 기하학적 형태를 추구하는 단일 매스로 유연성 넘치는 집의 구조를 디자인했다. 이를 통해 건축가는 단순하면서도 조각같이 아름다우면서도 리듬감 있는 볼륨감 넘치는 독창적인 주거 공간을 만들어냈다. 그 속에서 발린트하우스의 내외부 공간은 시간의 변화에 따라 주변 환경과 동화되며 더욱 생동감 있는 표정을 엮어가게 된다. ANN

A privileged place within a golf course near to Valencia is the starting point of this project. The proposal is drawn with elliptical traces which contain the program and maximize the possibilities of local urban law by minimizing the volumetric impact on the site. Thus, a piece with a continuous façade that seems to lodge only one floor is set on the site.

The aerodynamic visuals of it guide the eye towards the deepness of the neighbouring landscape. The volume is placed leaving as much free surface as possible towards the southern edge of the plot for it to be used as a garden, while the lateral limits are blurred with vegetation. The other elements that compose the urbanization resemble the curved nature of the place's topography.

The inner space of the house is articulated through a central void which contains communications. Service spaces, installations and the kitchen are used to orthogonalize the curved trace of the lower floor, which opens to the garden. The upper floor with the rooms and the underground, opened to the patio, provide the house with more bounded spaces. Four concrete supports on the lower floor hold the arched roof, from which the room's floor hangs.

This structure is covered by a monolithic, ventilated façade, which is realized with a Solid Surface with a simple curve that doesn't require thermoforming to adapt to the geometry of the piece. The rest of materials used in the construction range from white to black, covering all scales of grey. Other explanations can be superposed to this description, as the carpet of light which transforms the inside of the house as the hours go by.
