지역의 맥락성을 고려한 입체적인 파사드와 다이어그리드 패턴 공간, 자동차 주차장

영국 리즈의 역사적인 빅토리아 쿼터를 배경으로 들어선 빅토리아 게이트(빅토리아 게이트 아케이드와 존 루이스 빌딩, 자동차 주차장, Victoria Gate Arcades, John Lewis building and multi-storey car-park(MSCP))… 전통적인 지역의 맥락성을 고려한 입체적인 파사드와 다이아그리드 패턴의 아케이드 지붕, 직물류의 패턴화된 바닥 등을 통해 엮인 개방적이면서도 역동적인 공간미가 돋보여

빅토리아 게이트의 동측면에 자리한 다층식 주차장(MSCP)은 수직 패턴의 알루미늄 패널로 흡사 직물 조직을 닮은 듯 독특한 입면을 자아낸다.

입면은 4가지 유형으로 뒤틀린 수백 개의 알루미늄 핀으로 제작된 것으로 불규칙한 패널 조합의 다양성은 입체적으로 구성되어 주차장 내부로의 다채로운 풍경을 제공한다. 또한, 알루미늄 핀의 변화한 각도는 다양한 시간대의 빛과 그림자, 반사성을 드러내며 건물의 리듬감을 부여하는 동시에 자연 환기를 충족시켜준다.

런던을 기반으로 베를린, 멜버른에 사무소를 두고 폭넓게 활동하는 ACME는 2007년 처음 설립하였다. ACME는 현대 건축, 도시 계획, 인테리어 디자인 및 제품 디자인 분야를 아우르며, 영국, 독일, 인도, 콜롬비아, 스페인, 시리아, 한국, 루마니아, 바레인, 카타르, 호주, 프랑스 및 UAE 등지에서 다수의 프로젝트를 수행하고 있다. ANN

The practice operates in the fields of contemporary architecture, urban planning, interior design and product design – working with private, corporate and public clients.
